Area Tres
Área Tres is a co-working space located in the neighborhood of Palermo, Buenos Aires. The commission consisted in developing a system of lining and mobile panels that would allow on the one hand to divide the room in a flexible way and also to improve the acoustics of the space in general. The project was made entirely in plywood of different thicknesses: The lining, separated from the wall 10cm to create an air chamber, is made up of a 6mm layer bored and modulated every 50cm letting another thinner layer of 3mm appear from behind. For the mobile panels we used 12mm sheets perpendicularly linked, resulting in the faceted surface of the panels. This assembly logic allows a flat surface to acquire another structural condition by gaining volume and being able to remain in equilibrium.
